The Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) has provided numerous resources, including the Voluntary Plan Guide, Employer Toolkit, and Employer Webinars, to help employers prepare for the upcoming implementation of the Paid Family and Medical Leave program. In anticipation of the January 1, 2019 effective date for premium contributions, the ESD has published an employee paystub insert for employers who choose to deduct premiums from their employees’ paychecks. The insert is optional but provides employees with helpful information about the new withholding.
