Jay Harasyko has a passion for absence management. As owner and founder of Absence Innovations he educated businesses on absence management compliance and workstream solutions.
Now, as Interim CEO of ReedGroup, in addition to maintaining his position at Guardian Life as Vice President, Large Market, Group and Worksite Markets, he brings this enthusiasm and experience to ReedGroup to guide their vision and strategic objectives. Jay is committed to the employees he leads and the client employees he serves.
At Guardian, Jay was recognized as the P&L leader for the 500+ market. Jay is responsible for strategy, planning, results and capability expansion. He is also directly responsible for Large Market Underwriting and Service and indirectly oversees Distribution and Financial and Planning efforts for this market segment. In addition to his Large Market responsibilities, Jay has oversight for the Strategic Change Office and the Project Leadership & Solutions and Quality Assurance teams. Jay successfully led the New Customer Case Installation or “NCCI” project, which improved Guardian’s ability to implement and install new customers in all size segments.
Jay has more than 30 years of group insurance experience, and has a strong record for achieving results. His previous experiences include serving as an executive at two leading insurance carriers (The Hartford and The Travelers). He earned his undergraduate degree from Skidmore College, and is a graduate of the University of Connecticut’s Business Mastery Program. He is also a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and has earned the Health & Group Life designations from the Health Insurance Institute of America.
Jay, his wife Cindy, and their four children live in Glastonbury, CT.
Kevin Curry is ReedGroup’s CRO, and directs business strategy, technology innovation, overall performance, and marketing. His primary focus is to drive company growth through revenue generation and retention, and to oversee alignment across all revenue-generating teams, including Client Services, Sales, Marketing and MDGuidelines. Kevin is a 20-year veteran of the Absence Management industry, and has led sales and marketing teams within ReedGroup for more than eight years. Prior to joining ReedGroup, Kevin served in senior positions for Mercer’s Total Health Management practice, where he partnered with large employers to help them reduce costs, significantly improve absence management productivity, and meet specific and measurable objectives. Kevin is a well-regarded and respected industry expert, and is frequently sought after to speak at industry conferences and events. Kevin served for many years on the board of the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), and currently serves on the board of the Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC).
As ReedGroup’s Chief Technology Officer, Paul Farnsworth brings innovative perspectives to our software and security operations. A principled visionary who is the inventor of 28 patent-pending applications, he ensures that our tech is the best solution for our customers’ needs. In his prior role as SVP of Information Technology at Level 3, he was responsible for major initiatives including the Global Crossing IT integration and enterprise-wide deployment of agile SDLC models. Paul’s experience leading technology strategy ranges from start-ups to large corporations, including British Telecom, where he led development and operations for bt.com, btWholesale.com, and Global Services. His professional experience also includes the roles of Vice President of IT for Qwest, and CIO for the Qwest Product Management division.
As Vice President, Operations and Client Services, Colleen Hutchings leads a team of directors and managers who are responsible for providing excellence in operational service delivery and client satisfaction, providing industry leading outsourcing solutions, and seamlessly ensuring quality return to work outcomes.
Hutchings has more than 20 years of experience across the health continuum in the clinical, insurance and client segments, and brings together her passion for Lean Six Sigma principles and disability management to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Most recently, she held the position of Vice President, Canadian Operations, for ReedGroup Canada; before joining ReedGroup, she developed and led a national team of organizational health consultants within a large Canadian insurer as part of an innovative mandate to integrate organizational health as an key component in impacting absence rates.
Prior to this, Hutchings held leadership positions at both regional and national levels within rehabilitation, case management and absence outsourcing operations with two national providers. She also spent many years in Exercise Therapy, working with organizations to support healthy return to work and accommodation plans under the Workers’ Compensation Plan in Alberta.
Colleen holds a Master’s degree in Disability Management from the University of Northern BC, a BPE from University of Fredericton, NB, and is a Certified Disability Management Professional and a Consensus Based Disability Management Auditor.
Joe Guerriero is the Senior Vice President of Reed Group’s MDGuidelines™ division, and the renegade among us. His intuition with data in the medical arena is drawn from over 20 years of experience in publishing and health care, as well as expertise in marketing, advertising and digital strategy. Joe has held leadership roles at Success Media, Billboard, and Healthleaders, Inc., where he launched Health Leaders magazine. Immediately prior to ReedGroup, he served as Vice President/Group Publisher at Eagle Publishing, where he ran the company’s $25M political media group, including the nationally known RedState.com. Joe is a graduate of Manhattanville College and has studied integrated sales and brand marketing at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
As SVP of ReedGroup’s Customer Operations, Nancy Botiller is at the heart of our mission to deliver outstanding levels of end-to-end customer service. Bringing people back to health and back to work has been her consistent focus since she began her career as a licensed practitioner of Physical Therapy. From there she moved to Kaiser Permanente, where she held several roles over 19 years, including leading the organization’s National Claims Services as the Executive Director. She then moved to Nurse-Family Partnership, an evidence-based nurse home visiting program for low-income families, serving as their Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, she held the position of Executive Vice President of Operations at the non-profit health plan provider, Colorado Access. Nancy earned her MBA from the University of Colorado Denver, and her MS in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, after receiving her BS from University of California, Davis.
As Senior Vice President and leader of ReedGroup’s Canadian Absence Business, Tom Gergely plays a key role in understanding client needs and providing solutions. His broad base of absence consulting and administration knowledge, specifically in the areas of workers’ compensation and disability risk management, make him an innovative leader in our business development. Strategy, operations, innovation, business development and client management all fall within his realm of responsibility. Having developed industry-leading analytical tools necessary in the identification of casual costing factors and appropriate risk management strategies, Tom has led the creation of innovative approaches relating to organizational health management and integrated program design. He brings a fresh perspective on branding and marketing to the healthcare arena. His degree in business and economics is from the University of Western Ontario, and he serves as Chairman of the Board for London Health Sciences Centre, one of Canada’s largest hospital groups.
ReedGroup’s Account Management and ReedInsights Analytics teams have a great leader in Harry. As our Vice President of Client Services, he is committed to upholding the highest standards in customer service. Harry drives to what his team and his clients need to achieve success. His understanding of product and software development make him adept at initiating cross-organizational partnerships, while his relationship management expertise perfectly complements his strong knowledge of products and operations. Harry joined ReedGroup following six years leading Technology Service Delivery for Western Union’s North and South American regions. He has also served in senior roles as VP of Operations for ChannelInsight and various leadership positions with consulting firms including Keane and DCSS. His BS degree in Computer Science comes from Louisiana State University.
Alexis Kearns is ReedGroup’s Senior Vice President, Human Resources. As a tenured Human Resource leader, Alexis is passionate about the high performance of ReedGroup’s people, and is committed to leveraging the power of human capital to meet business commitments and serve clients. With more than 15 years of experience in HR and organizational consulting, Alexis specializes in transformational change management, building HR strategy and teams that unlock human performance, pre- and post-merger and acquisition human capital planning, leadership development, team effectiveness, and executive coaching. Alexis’ dynamic work has spanned a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, consumer products, manufacturing, hospitality, public safety, retail, and telecommunications. She has also been recognized by the Denver Business Journal as being one of the “Top 40 under 40” leaders within the community. Alexis earned her degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Stephanie serves as Chief of Staff to the CEO. She supports ReedGroup’s C-Suite in coordinating company priorities to deliver on major objectives for internal and external stakeholders. With a strong background in strategic and operational planning, Stephanie leads special initiatives in a cross functional capacity. She also handles executive communications and is responsible for authoring ongoing operational reports and presentations.
Josh leads the ReedGroup legal department. He oversees compliance, contracting, commercial agreements, product development, procurement, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management. Josh brings experience in healthcare, financial services and IT, arriving most recently from a role as Associate General Counsel at healthcare information technology solutions company TriZetto Corporation. Prior to that he served as Senior Corporate Counsel at Flextronics, a global multibillion dollar electronic manufacturing services company. Josh received his JD from New York City’s Fordham Law School, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.
